pinch of salt

4 cans Cherrie pie filling
1 1/3 cup milk
1 1/2 Tbsp. vinegar

Directions:
Cut flour and shortening until crumbly. Combine milk and vinegar. Pour over flour mixture and divide into parts--one part slightly larger for bottom crust. Roll out smaller portion for lattice strips on top.
Heat cherries, adding sugar to taste. Add some leftover pieces of dough to warm cherries. Pour over dough in 9x13 pan. Lace with strips of dough.
Brush top with milk and sprinkle with a little sugar.
Bake at 400º oven until lightly brown. (Approx 45-60 minutes), reducing heat if it browns too quickly.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This is a Victor family favorite, even for birthdays. No one can make it like my Grandma Jo Holt, but we try. She would just press the dough into the pan for the bottom crust.
