1/2 lb. bacon
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup vinegar
1 cup water
6 sliced cooked potatoes
pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Cook bacon until crisp. Drain & crumble, reserving 1/4 cup of the fat.

Cook onion in fat until tender. Blend in flour, sugar & pepper. Add vinegar & water. Cook & stir until thickened and bubbly.

Add bacon & potatoes. Heat thoroughly, tossing lightly.

This is best if served right away or refrigerated to bring to room temperature.

This is a recipe I got from my Uncle Clyde Musholt. The recipe originally came from my Grandmother on that side of the family. It is a very authentic German dish.
