2c pecans(chopped)
1 1/4 c butter
3 c flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c sugar
4 eggs(unbeaten)
1 c milk
2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Toast nuts in 1/4 c butter on cookie sheet in 350
oven-20 min.stirring often until brown. Watch carefully. Sift flour, salt and baking powder together. Cream 1 c butter, sugar and eggs until smooth. Add milk and eggs alternately beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla and 1 1/3 c. nuts. Bake 350- 25 min. in 3(8") greased and floured pans.
Frosting
Cream 1/4 c butter, 1 lb.powdered sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla and 4 to 6 T. evaporated milk or cream. Stir in remaining 2/3 c.nuts. Frost between layers and top. Not enough for sides.
