1¼ c butter - softened divided
2 tsp baking powder
2⅔ c chopped pecans
2 tsp vanilla
3 c flour
½ tsp salt
2 c sugar
1 c milk
4 eggs

Frosting:
8 c icing sugar
1 can evaporated milk
2 tbsp vanilla
1 c butter - softened

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat 350º 3 greased and floured 8 inch round cake pans.
1. Toast pecans in ¼ c butter.
2. Cream 1 cup butter and sugar till fluffy.
3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing between. Add vanilla and mix.
4. Combine dry; flour, baking powder and salt.
5. Into eggs, add dry and milk in alternating thirds.
6. Fold in 1⅓ c toasted pecans.
7. Pour into pans and bake 25-30 min. Cool 10 min, remove from pan to a rack and cool completely.
Icing:
8. Beat sugar and butter add milk and vanilla till smooth. Fold in last toasted pecans.
9. Cover between and on top all 3 layers.
