Mexican Cornbread Recipe

1 lb. ground beef
4 oz. chopped green chilies
1 onion, chopped
2-3 boxes Jiffy cornbread muffin mix
1 can creamed corn
2 Tbsp. picante sauce
Shredded cheddar cheese
10 oz. can pinto beans (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Brown ground beef, drain and add chilies.
Make cornbread mix according to instructions, add corn.
Pour half of batter into 9-inch baking dish.
Sprinkle meat, then onion over top.
Add picante sauce if desired.
Cover with layer of shredded cheese, then add rest of batter.
Bake at 350º for 45-50 minutes.
Serve heated pinto beans over cornbread (optional).
