Lime Water
3 cups Lime
2 gallons water

Soak 7 sliced cucumbers ¼ inch thick in lime water for 24 hours

Drain and soak 4 hours in fresh water, changing the water every 4 hours.

Drain again.

Syrup
5 lbs. sugar
2 pts white vinegar
1 tsp whole cloves
1 tsp all spice
1 tsp celery seed
4 sticks cinnamon bark

Bring to a boil.

Pour over cucumbers and let stand overnight.

In the morning, boil for 1 hour

Pack cucumbers in jar and cover with boiling syrup, add 2 garlic cloves to each jar.
