2 watermelon

Directions:
Directions:
Trim melon from rind and cut into 1-inch pieces. Soak overnight in salt water (1/4 cup salt to 1 quart water)

Drain, rinse, and cover with cold water. Cook until tender. Drain again.

Combine 2 cups sugar, 1 cup white vinegar and 1 cup water. Add 1 tbsp broken cinnamon stick and 1 ½ tsp whole cloves tied in a bag. Simmer for 10 minutes.

Remove bag, add watermelon and ½ lemon (thinly sliced)

Add 5 halved cherries, simmer until clear.

Jar and seal.
