1/2 lb. pork ground
1 small onion chopped fine
1 egg
salt and pepper to taste

1/4 tsp. each nutmeg and ground clove

1 can beef broth
4 tbsp. flour

Directions:
Saute onion in butter until soft but not brown. Mix all ingredients, except flour and beef broth, together well. Fry 1-2 meatballs first to taste and correct seasoning. Wet hands several times when rolling. I usually make up quite a few before I start to fry. Fry in butter or oil in medium hot pan. These meatballs are small, perhaps the size of a walnut. Remove cooked meatballs to a dish as you fry more. Make gravy with pan drippings, flour, and beef broth.

Personal Notes:
We serve these meatballs every Christmas Eve for our smorgasbord. They do take some time to make. You can also buy frozen Swedish meatballs at IKEA. If you do, be sure to buy 2 envelopes of the gravy mix. It's very good.
