6 slices thick cut bacon, cut into pieces
1 Tbsp butter
4 green onions, chopped
2 stalks celery, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 Tbsp flour
2 2/3 cups milk
1 1/2 cups corn kernels
15 oz can creamed corn
1/4 tsp cayenne pepepr
1 lb frozen peeled and deveined shrimp
1 tsp chopped fresh thyme
1/3 cup Half-and-Half

Directions:
Directions:
Cook the bacon in a large saucepan over medium heat until crisp, then remove the bacon and drain all but 1 Tbsp drippings from the pan.
Melt the butter in the pan and melt over medium heat, then add the celery and all but 1/4 cup of the green onion.
Cook, stirring occasionally, until the celery is tender, then stir in the garlic, salt, and pepper.
Cook 30 seconds more, then sprinkle with the flour and continue to cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.
Add the milk, a little at a time, stirring to avoid lumps.
Mix in the corn kernels, creamed corn, and cayenne, and bring to a gentle boil.
Cook, stirring, until thickened, then add the shrimp and stir until heated through.
Remove from heat and add the thyme and Half-and-Half.
Serve hot garnished with the green onions and bacon.
