6-8 pork chops
2 c flour
2-3 eggs, beaten
2 c bread crumbs or panko
Enough Crisco to come up 1/3" in large skillet
1 large onion, chopped
4-5 cloves garlic, chopped
1/4 c water

Directions:
Directions:
Wash pork chops, pat dry and season to taste. heat shortening in a large skillet to 350ºF (no hotter or oil will burn). Dredge chops in flour, then eggs and then bread crumbs. Shake off excess. Cook 2-3 chops for 2 minutes each side. Remove chops to a wire rack to drain.
There are two methods to finish.
Stove top.
Sauté oil and garlic for 3 minutes. Add water and return chops to skillet. Cover and steam for 20 minutes.
Oven.
Cook onions and garlic along with pork chops and drain excess oil. Place chops in a glass baking dish. Bake in 350ºF oven for 15 minutes.
