2 lb ground beef
2 large onions
2-15oz cans of spicy chili beans
1-29 oz can tomato sauce
1-29 oz can tomato puree
5-7 jalapeno peppers
3-5 peppers (green, yellow or red)
2 tbsp chili powder
1 t salt
1/2 t pepper
1 large bay leaf
1-12 oz beer (Ed perfers Pabst's Blue Ribbon)
1/8 c barley

Directions:
Directions:
Brown ground beef in stockpot, drain off fat. Drink a beer. Wipe out same pot and saute onions in small amount of olive oil, about 5 minutes. Add cooked ground beef, peppers, chili beans, tomato sauce & puree, bay leaf, chili powder, salt & pepper and beer. Drink a beer.

Bring almost to boil, reduce heat to a simmer for at least 2 hours. While waiting drink a beer.

Add barley and continue simmering for at least 1 hour.

Serve with crackers and beer.

If you prefer less spicy cut back on the jalapenos.
If you prefer spicy hot add crushed red pepper flakes or cayenne peppers. Then ask Kevin Roos if it is hot enough.
