1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
11/2 cups sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup seedless blackberry jam
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon allspice
1/2 tearoom cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs
1 cup chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Into large bowl, measure all ingredients, except pecans. Beat at low speed until mixed, increase speed to high and beat about 8 minutes, scraping bowl with rubber spatula occasionally. Fold In pecans. Pour into large pan or 2 - 8 inch round pans. Bake 40 minutes or until cake leaves sides of pan. Cool and ice with caramel icing.

CARAMEL icing

1 cup brown sugar
1 stick oleo
Dash of salt
1/4 cup of milk

Mix in pan and cook no more than 2 minutes.Add 3/4 cup powdered sugar. Beat with electric mixer until smooth. Immediately pour on and ice cake.
