1 pkg frozen, grated cassava, thawed 16 oz/ 454 g
1 pkg frozen, grated coconut, thawed 16 oz/ 454 g
1 tin condensed milk 300ml
¼ c butter, melted (I use ⅛ c)
1 tsp vanilla essence
¼ c raisins or currants
¼ tsp white pepper (sub black pepper)

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together and pour into a greased 8 x 8 pan. The mixture should be about 1 in. thick in the pan.

Bake at 350’ for 60 - 90 minutes, until top is just about golden. Baking time depends on oven.

Cool and cut into squares. Makes 24 to 30 squares depending on how small you cut them.

Thank goodness for modern methods. Traditionally you would have to grate the coconut and casava before making this goey, yummy desert.
